Business Analyst – Funds & middle/back office

Location:
London, United Kingdom (Hybrid)

Contract:
6-month rolling (Inside IR35)

Day Rate:
£500 per day

We're seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong knowledge of fund operations and middle/back office processes within the asset management sector. This role will focus on enhancing operational and data processes across portfolios, funds, and cash management activities.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse and document business processes across
    funds, funds of funds, and hybrid fund structures (units and market holdings).
  • Collaborate with Middle and Back Office stakeholders to optimise processes involving:
  • Client Order Management
  • Transfer Agency
  • Cash Movements / Cash Flow Processing
  • Portfolio and Static Data Management
  • Benchmark Data / Models
  • Translate business requirements into clear, testable Epics, User Stories, and Gherkin acceptance criteria in an Agile environment.
  • Produce high-quality documentation, including:
  • Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
  • Process and Workflow Diagrams
  • Data Mapping and Technical Documentation
  • Conduct SQL-based data analysis and support UAT on delivered solutions.

Experience & Skills Required

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst within Asset Management or Investment Operations.
  • Strong understanding of fund operations – particularly client orders, cash flows, and static data.
  • Experience working with Middle Office / Back Office teams and related systems.
  • Skilled in Agile delivery, documentation, and data analysis (SQL).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with FIX Messaging, Benchmark Data, or Portfolio Securitisation would be advantageous.
