Milton Keynes, Milton Keynes, United Kingdom CityFibre Full time
Job Description

This hybrid role offers a great balance of home and office working. You'll join your colleagues in your local office at least 2 days a week.

As the UK's largest fibre-only network, and its only proven wholesale challenger, we're busy setting new standards for what digital infrastructure can and should be.

Designed from scratch for the internet, our network is greener, more reliable and ready for the future. The products we provide over it not only lead the market on speed, value and service, they help businesses to innovate, provide entire communities with a better foundation for their digital lives and support economic growth, locally and nationally.

What does that mean for you? The opportunity to make internet connections (and daily life) a whole lot better, for a lot of people

Joining us as a Solution Architect

Are you passionate about designing innovative solutions that drive business success in the telecoms sector? Join our dynamic team at CityFibre as a Solution Architect, where you'll play a key role in shaping scalable, robust, and cost-effective solutions that support our strategic goals.

You'll define and communicate solution structures that meet stakeholder requirements, identify architectural risks, and provide recommendations for mitigation—while collaborating closely with technical leads and agile delivery teams.

This role is based in Milton Keynes, with weekly office presence required to support cross-functional collaboration.

You'll receive a competitive salary, a car allowance, a performance-related bonus, and a range of benefits to support you across your financial, physical, and mental wellbeing.

This is some of what you can expect to be doing:

  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architects and business stakeholders to capture, maintain, and evolve current state architecture
  • Adhere to established IT principles, governance models, and data policies
  • Work with Business Analysts and stakeholders across Sales, Network Operations, Finance, and strategic suppliers to refine requirements
  • Evaluate internal systems, strategies, and processes to identify enhancements that support CityFibre's future goals
  • Ensure alignment between business and technology by linking strategy and processes to technical solutions
  • Support the delivery of technical solutions that provide business advantage through effective design and implementation

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Proven experience in solution architecture within the telecoms industry
  • Strong software development background with the ability to code, debug, and review (e.g., Python, JavaScript, PHP)
  • Familiarity with cloud-based systems architecture (ideally AWS)
  • Experience with architectural frameworks and methodologies such as TM Forum, TOGAF, ITIL, BPMN, UML
  • Ability to define and articulate complex technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams
