This will be highly challenging, very rewarding and the adventure of a lifetime, working with the best operators you will ever encounter.If that gets you excited, let's talkAbout the roleAs Clinical Governance Lead, you will act as the chief guardian of clinical safety and risk within our UK operations and products. You will hold an independent, senior clinical leadership role, shaping and overseeing governance across clinical safety, assurance, incident management, and regulatory compliance. You will act as the Registered Manager for our CQC-registered services, ensuring that all clinical, digital, and operational risks are proactively managed and mitigated.You will partner closely with clinical, regulatory, engineering, product, commercial, and operations teams to design and maintain robust safety systems, standards, and processes, ensuring that patient safety is never compromised.Your role is pivotal in bridging clinical practice, technology, regulatory regimes, and organisational governance as we continue to scale to hundreds of thousands of patients in the UK and globally.What you'll be doingClinical Governance and Quality ManagementLead the development, implementation, review and continuous improvement of clinical governance frameworks across the UK organisation (including digital, product, operational, and care pathways).Own and manage the UK Risk Register, clinical hazard log, safety case reports, critical incident registers, regulatory notifications and safety assurance documentation.Oversee the UK Clinical Governance Committee - including preparation, reporting and escalation to the Global Clinical Governance Committee, Executive Leadership Team and Board Risk and Audit Committee.Collaborate with the Medical Leadership Team to maintain and update clinical policies, SOPs, and audit standards across all conditions and service lines.Provide expert clinical safety input at all phases of system/product lifecycle (design, validation, deployment, maintenance, decommissioning).Undertake safety impact assessments, independent reviews, clinical risk reviews, and assurance of third-party integrations.Provide oversight of change management processes from a clinical safety lens, ensuring that safety is embedded in any change or transformation.Governance, Assurance & OversightCoordinate appropriate clinical audit coverage and systematic reviews of care quality, safety, prescribing practices and clinical documentation for the UK service by working closely with the Global Clinical Insights team.Ensure that clinical insights are translated into actionable performance management and service optimisation practices in collaboration with the UK Operations teams.Develop and deliver internal education, training, and awareness on clinical safety, governance, and regulation.Define and monitor benchmarks, KPIs, and quality standards, ensuring alignment with internal goals and external regulatory expectations.Ensure alignment of policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), escalation pathways and compliance with broader governance, QA, regulatory, and ethical frameworks.Review and approve safety documentation associated with new services, modules, features, systems, or changes.Regulatory Compliance and CQC ResponsibilitiesAct as the Registered Manager for our CQC-registered service, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations and oversight of clinical safety.Lead CQC inspection readiness and MHRA compliance, ensuring documentation, systems and processes are fully compliant and auditable.Work closely with the Superintendent Pharmacist to ensure readiness with GPhC inspections and compliance with regulatory requirements.Monitor, investigate, and provide leadership for clinical safety incidents, near misses, and emerging safety signals; lead root cause analyses (PSII), thematic reviews, and corrective actions.Leadership & CollaborationAct as a thought leader and trusted advisor on safety matters to the senior leadership team, clinical leads, product, technology, and operations teams.Influence decision-making, embed a safety culture, and advocate for risk-aware innovation.Mentor, coach, and if required develop a local safety / clinical governance team.Lead or contribute to cross-functional working groups, change programmes, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical innovation projects.Represent the organisation externally on clinical safety matters, maintain awareness of national standards, best practices, emerging regulation, and developments in digital health safety.About YouQualifications & Professional RegistrationFully registered clinician with relevant Bachelor's degree in healthcare-related field (e.g. nurse, doctor, or allied health professional) with a current registration (e.g. NMC, GMC, HCPC as appropriate).Significant senior experience in clinical governance, patient safety, risk management, or clinical leadership.Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Clinical Governance, or Quality Management- desirable.Prior experience in roles such as Registered Manager, Nominated Individual, or Clinical Safety Officer in a CQC-registered or equivalent regulated environment.Demonstrated experience working with or applying DCB0129 / DCB0160 standards (or equivalent digital clinical safety standards) desirable.Experience & SkillsProven track record in senior clinical safety / governance roles, with hands-on exposure to CQC compliance and inspection processes such as incident management, risk frameworks, audits, and system-level oversight.Deep expertise in clinical risk management methodologies, safety engineering, hazard analysis, root cause analysis, human factors, and safety assurance.Ability to interpret, apply, and translate regulation, standards, evidence, and clinical reasoning into operational systems and practices.Strong analytical skills – ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and propose actionable mitigation.Exceptional communication skills: able to interact credibly with clinical, technical, executive, regulatory, and operational stakeholders.High level of personal credibility, professionalism, integrity, and independence.Strong planning, prioritisation, and time-management skills;
