- About the role
- This is an influential post within the Education Improvement & Partnerships Service, requiring a specific range of safeguarding knowledge, negotiation, influencing, auditing, and signposting skills. Education Safeguarding & Wellbeing Officer will be an expert on the safeguarding of children and young people within education settings, with the capacity and skills to operate at both operational and strategic levels.
Key responsibilities include:

- Playing a key role in the Hillingdon Safeguarding Children Partnership (HSCP), including co-chairing the education safeguarding sub-group.
- Maintaining and developing pathways for safeguarding advice and support to DSLs, DDSLs, and senior leaders.
- Auditing safeguarding practice in schools, feeding back findings, and offering targeted support where needed.
- Delivering CPD and creating resources to promote best practice in safeguarding.
- Supporting high-quality multi-agency working and ensuring a thorough understanding of key safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance.
About You
You will bring a strong track record in safeguarding and a detailed understanding of the interface between education and social care professionals.
We are looking for someone who can:
- Communicate confidently with colleagues at all levels, offering both support and professional challenge.
- Apply detailed knowledge of safeguarding legislation, statutory guidance, and the HSCP Threshold guidance.
- Conduct audits, analyse outcomes, and follow up with effective improvement plans.
- Deliver training, facilitate discussions, and share best practice across education settings.
- Work effectively under pressure, balancing multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of work.
Operate with integrity, discretion, and a commitment to putting the safety and wellbeing of children and young people first.
