Field Service Engineer – Biomedical Equipment

£32,000–£35,000 + Car Allowance
• 37.5 Hours
• Clean UK Driving Licence Required

Are you an experienced Biomedical Engineer looking for a role where your work directly supports patient care? Do you enjoy problem-solving, working independently, and delivering a high-quality service to customers? If so, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join our growing team and deliver high-quality planned and corrective maintenance across a wide range of biomedical devices. Working across multiple customer sites, you will ensure equipment is safe, reliable, and fully compliant with industry standards—helping clinical teams deliver the best possible care.

Reporting to the Team Leader and Service Manager, you will play a key role in meeting contractual KPIs while providing professional, customer-focused support. This is a mobile role requiring regular travel, strong organisation, and the ability to work independently when needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out PPM and corrective maintenance on a variety of biomedical devices.
  • Diagnose faults, complete repairs, and ensure equipment safety and performance.
  • Travel to customer sites to provide on-site technical support and testing.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and update asset management systems.
  • Support KPI achievement by prioritising workload and responding to urgent issues.
  • Work collaboratively with clients, clinical teams, OEMs, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure compliance with QMS procedures, MHRA guidelines, and relevant safety standards.
  • Maintain calibration of tools and test equipment.
  • Adhere to Infection Control, Health & Safety, and site-specific protocols.

What We're Looking For

  • Engineering qualification in electronics, medical technologies, or biomedical engineering.
  • 2–3 years' experience servicing and repairing biomedical equipment (e.g., patient monitoring, ESUs, theatre tables, defibrillators, infusion devices; familiarity with anaesthesia equipment desirable).
  • Strong customer-facing communication and professionalism.
  • Excellent organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities across sites.
  • Understanding of KPIs and commitment to quality standards.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Clean UK driving licence (or a valid international licence with intention to obtain a UK licence within DVLA's permitted timeframe).
