About the Role
We are recruiting a Female Support Worker to work with a young lady who is severely deaf and living with a spinal cord injury. She lives at home in the Norwich area with her fiancé. Her interests include baking, crafts, completing therapies, taking care of her dogs, spending time with family and going on holiday – all of which you will be supporting.
You will provide 1:1 care, ensuring her personal care, welfare, rehabilitation, and communication needs are fully met. The role involves working on a rota basis, including days, nights, and weekends, as part of a close-knit and supportive team.
This role offers a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful difference to our client's life by drawing on your personal and professional experience. You'll join a supportive and friendly team, with regular supervision and guidance provided by Complexus Care.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting personal care and rehabilitation, including physiotherapy and hydrotherapy
- Encouraging participation in activities and daily routines
- Promoting independence while providing consistent motivation and positivity
- Communicating effectively through sign language (training provided)

- Long day shift: 8:30am to 9pm
- Sleep shift: 9pm to 8:30am
- Waking night rate payable between the hours of 6:30am to 8:30am and 9:00pm to midnight.
- Note: The rota covers weekdays and weekends (however you will not be working every weekend)
Rates of Pay
- Up to £17.50 per hour
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check required
The successful candidate will be:
- A confident communicator
- Enthusiastic, positive, and caring, with a strong team player attitude
- Flexible to meet rota requirements and cover shifts in the event of sickness
- A full UK driving licence holder
- Non-smoker
Experience with spinal cord injuries and working with those with hearing impairments is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
In Return, We Offer
- Excellent rates of pay
- Paid holiday entitlement
- Ongoing training and career development
- Auto-enrolment pension scheme
- Payment for e-learning and specialist training
- Regular supervision with your line manager
- Employee Assistance Programme (confidential 24-hour counselling and wellbeing support)
