We invite passionate individuals to join our team, dedicated to exceeding customer expectations through innovative and sustainable solutions.
Project Engineer – Farnborough, UK
Make Your Mark Delivering Projects That Matter
At Xylem, we're committed to solving the world's most critical water challenges — creating innovative, sustainable solutions that move, treat, analyse, and return water to the environment. We're now looking for a Project Engineer to join our team in Farnborough, where you'll play a key role in driving project excellence, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement across our UK operations.
The Role
As a Project Engineer, you'll take ownership of project delivery from planning through to completion, ensuring quality, safety, and performance standards are consistently met. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers to coordinate daily activities, monitor progress, and maintain full compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and wants to make an impact through smart project management, strong technical insight, and a focus on continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and Coordinate: Develop project plans, schedules, and timelines; liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and on-time delivery.
- Budget and Risk Management: Manage project budgets, track costs, and identify potential risks — implementing proactive mitigation strategies.
- Quality and Compliance: Conduct inspections, audits, and assurance checks to maintain high standards across all deliverables.
- Communication: Provide clear updates to stakeholders, facilitate collaboration across departments, and resolve project challenges effectively.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate project records, prepare progress reports, and ensure all documentation is up to date and archived correctly.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Team Development: Support and mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
About You
You're an adaptable and driven engineer with a passion for delivering results and improving processes. You're confident managing multiple projects simultaneously and enjoy working cross-functionally to overcome challenges and achieve shared goals.
We're Looking For Someone Who Has
- A degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical field — or equivalent experience.
- A strong understanding of project management principles and tools (MS Project, Asana, or similar).
- Excellent organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- A commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Join the global Xylem team to be a part of innovative technology solutions transforming water usage, conservation, and re-use. Our products impact public utilities, industrial sectors, residential areas, and commercial buildings, with a commitment to providing smart metering, network technologies, and advanced analytics for water, electric, and gas utilities. Partner with us in creating a world where water challenges are met with ingenuity and dedication; where we recognize the power of inclusion and belonging in driving innovation and allowing us to compete more effectively around the world.
