This is a fantastic opportunity for an ECT to begin their teaching career in a supportive environment that values creativity and academic achievement.

About the School

Located in the heart of Walsall, our school is committed to fostering a positive learning environment where both academic success and creative expression are encouraged. The Art Department plays a key role in nurturing students' talents, helping them explore various artistic disciplines, and developing their artistic skills across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. As a newly qualified Art Teacher, you'll be joining a team that thrives on collaboration, professional development, and innovative teaching practices.

We are proud of our diverse student body and inclusive culture, which provides a welcoming space for both staff and students. You'll be part of a school that not only promotes academic achievement but also values the role of creativity in shaping well-rounded individuals.

About the Role

As an Art Teacher, you will:

  • Teach Art and Design across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach A-Level students, depending on your development and interests.

  • Develop and deliver creative, engaging lessons in a range of art forms, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital media.

  • Encourage students to think critically and express themselves through their art, fostering creativity and individuality.

  • Support students' development through formative feedback, assessments, and constructive guidance in their artistic journey.

  • Contribute to the Art Department's extracurricular activities, including running art clubs, exhibitions, and other creative projects.

  • Work closely with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and develop new strategies to inspire and motivate students in Art.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for an ECT who:

  • Holds or will soon achieve Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a degree in Art, Fine Art, or a related subject.

  • Is passionate about Art and eager to inspire and support students in their artistic development.

  • Has a creative approach to teaching, with the ability to engage students and help them discover their artistic potential.

  • Demonstrates strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive, supportive environment for students.

  • Is willing to learn, grow, and receive feedback as part of their professional development journey as an Art Teacher.

  • Enjoys working collaboratively as part of a team and contributing to the wider school community.

What We Offer

  • Structured Induction Programme – A comprehensive support system to help you grow as a newly qualified Art Teacher, with dedicated mentoring and training.

  • Creative Environment – Work in a school that values creativity and offers students the opportunity to explore various artistic disciplines.

  • Collaborative Team – Be part of a supportive and experienced team of Art Teachers who share ideas and best practices.

  • Professional Development – Access to ongoing CPD opportunities to help you progress in your teaching career.

  • Extracurricular Activities – Get involved in creative school events like art exhibitions, workshops, and clubs that help students explore their passion for Art outside the classroom.

  • Staff Wellbeing – A school that values your work-life balance and provides a supportive environment to ensure your wellbeing and growth.
