Solution Architect

Contract: 6+ months

Hybrid: Guildford, Surrey or Bournemouth, Dorset (choice of either location)

3 days in the office 2 homeworking

Rate: Up to £475 per day (Outside IR35)

Industry: Leading Insurance Company

We're looking for an experienced
Solution Architect
with strong insurance (or broader financial services/banking) exposure to support a major transformation programme for a leading insurer.

Key Responsibilities:


• Produce and oversee all architectural deliverables under the development methodology


• Identify Architectural, Technical and Security risks; work with stakeholders to resolve or escalate


• Communicate architecture, divergences and risks clearly and gain stakeholder alignment


• Provide technical leadership to fellow solution architects


• Deliver design assurance to ensure solutions are implemented to agreed standards and quality

Skills & Experience:


• Proven experience architecting solutions across hybrid and on-prem cloud estates, integrating with legacy systems


• Architectural support/assurance for DevOps teams; Agile exposure beneficial


• Experience in technical selection, RFI/RFP processes and supplier assurance of third-party products


• Strong experience operating within enterprise architectural governance and portfolio management frameworks


• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills across all levels


• Ability to communicate architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences


• Broad knowledge of IT technologies and architectural patterns (event-driven, serverless, microservices, SOA, layered, etc.)


• Knowledge of the Open Agile Framework ) beneficial but not essential
