Overview
TNS are currently looking to recruit an Application Support Analyst to join a small, dedicated team of individuals who are responsible for providing technical support and technical engineering solutions across all production Payment Processing Applications and services. This is a great opportunity for somebody with great technical knowledge or detailed payments support who wants to learn, be challenged, and be involved in our expanding Payments Processing business.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the Support of the Settlement service that provides Payment settlement services to 98% of UK retail business.
  • Provide day to day support for the applications running on the IBM mainframe which provide Settlement services, supporting MFT file transfers.
  • Manage and resolve incident tickets assigned to the 2nd line support team, involved in fixing code when required.
  • Provide Support for major Incidents providing root cause analysis, working with other teams within TNS to troubleshoot.
  • Plan / support of releases and Change Management activities within the production environments.
  • Support the Problem Management process.
  • Become an expert on supported systems, applications, and services
  • Production and update of service documentation
  • Support PCI compliance, requiring investigation and resolution for any vulnerabilities.
  • Provide Support for Disaster Recovery activities
  • Participation in 24/7 on-call rota
  • Provide training, knowledge transfer and ongoing support to 1st line support staff

Qualifications
Experience, Skill and Qualifications:

  • Essential

  • Two years' experience of working on IBM mainframe, managing batch applications and processing job schedules.

  • Sound knowledge of

  • Standard IBM utilities TSO/ISPF/etc.

  • JCL (Job Control Language)
  • Batch scheduling utility – preferably Control-M
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Able to trouble shoot technical issues within applications. Demonstrate a logical and technical ability to fix and resolve complex issues.

  • Must have a willingness to learn and adapt with a can-do attitude.

  • Desirable

  • Connect Direct, Control-M

  • Experience with MSSQL / MYSQL with at least the ability to write select queries.
  • Previous experience within a Payments environment / testing and / or application support environments.
