Winchester Blinds & Shutters are a small, trusted, independent, family-run business specialising in high-quality, made-to-measure window coverings across Hampshire and the south. Known for exceptional workmanship and a personal approach, we're proud to deliver a first-class service from design to installation.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for a hard-working, reliable and detail oriented individual to assist with the installation of blinds and shutters. Experience in the industry is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly and growing team.

We are looking for a motivated, hard working fitter. You'll be responsible for installing premium blinds and shutters with precision, care, and attention to detail. You'll work directly with our customers in their homes and businesses, ensuring every project is completed to the highest standard.

This is a great opportunity for someone with practical skills looking to learn a new trade.

Key Responsibilities

  • Professionally fit and install all types of blinds and shutters
  • Inspect, measure, and assess windows for suitability prior to installation
  • Ensure every fitting is completed to company standards with a clean, tidy finish
  • Provide friendly, confident, and professional service on-site
  • Report progress and any issues to the office team clearly and promptly
  • Maintain tools, materials, and company vehicle in excellent condition
  • Delivering excellent customer service, answering queries, and representing Winchester Blinds professionally.
  • Working closely with the sales and office team to ensure smooth scheduling and job completion.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Be proficient in the use of hand tools and power tools
  • Accuracy with measurements
  • Exceptional attention to detail providing quality workmanship on all fits and respect for client's property
  • Strong practical and finishing skills
  • Proactive ability to work on own initiative and keep timescales
  • Excellent communication and have a polite and courteous manner with clients and colleagues
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Able to work independently and manage your own workload efficiently

Desirable:

  • Proven experience fitting shutters and blinds to a high standard
  • Experience installing motorised or automated products
  • Joinery, carpentry, or finishing trade background
  • Experience in measuring and surveying
  • Taking accurate measurements on-site and advising customers on product suitability.
  • Own tools

Hours & Benefits

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday (occasional Saturday work if required)
  • Salary: £28,000–£35,000 DOE
