Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Deli Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while preparing and serving a variety of deli products. This role requires strong communication skills, organisational abilities, and a passion for food. A multilingual or bilingual background is advantageous, particularly in English and Italian, to better serve our diverse clientele. English is essential .

Duties

  • Greet customers warmly and assist them with their deli selections.
  • Prepare and serve deli items, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the deli area, including equipment and displays.
  • Engage in upselling techniques to enhance customer experience and increase sales.
  • Handle cash transactions accurately while adhering to basic math principles.
  • Assist with merchandising tasks to promote products effectively.
  • Answer customer inquiries with excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operation of the deli section.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a customer service role, preferably within a food service environment.
  • Strong communication skills in English; proficiency in Italian is highly desirable.
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions and inventory management.
  • Excellent time management abilities to handle peak hours efficiently.
  • Organisational skills to maintain an orderly work environment.
  • Multilingual or bilingual capabilities are a plus, enhancing customer interaction.
