Assistant Professor in Political Science

Salary is no less than £68,087 per annum and the salary scale can be found on the LSE website

We are recruiting for a new career-track Assistant Professor in Political Science. We welcome candidates with strong research and teaching interests in empirical political science, and the potential to establish an international reputation in the field.

Candidates should have excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to contribute to undergraduate teaching in political science as well as to our MSc in Political Science, which offers specialist streams in Conflict Studies and Comparative Politics, Global Politics, Political Economy, and Political Behaviour

Candidates must have an emerging record of research excellence in empirical political science, evidenced by publications (published or forthcoming) in leading generalist political science journals.

The successful candidate should have a PhD in political science or a closely related discipline by the start date.

The post will commence in September 2026.
