Job Summary

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role is crucial in delivering personalised care tailored to each individual's needs, whether in a home care setting or assisted living facility.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences.
  • Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects.
  • Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental well-being.
  • Assist with mobility and transportation needs, ensuring safety during outings.
  • Support clients with dementia care by employing appropriate communication techniques and activities that stimulate cognitive function.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, including light housekeeping duties as needed.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care, including hospice care when necessary.
  • Document client progress and report any changes in health status to the appropriate personnel.

Skills

  • Proven experience in patient care or senior care is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of first aid practices and emergency response procedures.
  • Ability to prepare meals that meet nutritional guidelines and individual preferences.
  • Familiarity with medication administration protocols and assisted living regulations.
  • Compassionate approach towards caregiving, particularly for individuals with dementia or chronic illnesses.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude are essential traits for success in this role.
