About Cloudwick

Cloudwick is an award winning AWS Advanced Consulting and Technology Partner, trusted by global enterprises and public sector organisations to modernise their data platforms, accelerate AI adoption, and drive measurable business outcomes.

Our flagship product, Amorphic Data Cloud, is an AWS-native, self-service data and AI platform that simplifies ingestion, transformation, governance, and consumption across 70+ AWS services — enabling faster time-to-insight for customers like Nike, SGN, Lycamobile, and Mental Health Innovations.

With 10+ years of experience delivering data modernisation and GenAI transformation programmes across industries, Cloudwick combines deep AWS expertise, design thinking, and agile delivery to help organisations unlock the full potential of cloud and AI.

Role Overview

We're seeking an AWS Data Engineer with 3–5 years of experience to join our growing EMEA delivery team. You will design, build, and optimise scalable data pipelines on AWS, working on data ingestion, transformation, and analytics solutions that underpin Cloudwick's enterprise-grade platforms such as Amorphic and customer-specific data modernisation projects.

You'll work closely with architects, DevOps engineers, data scientists, and BI specialists to enable end-to-end data journeys — from raw data ingestion to actionable insights via tools like Glue, Redshift, and QuickSight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for batch and streaming workloads using AWS Glue, EMR, Lambda, and Step Functions.
  • Implement data ingestion from structured and unstructured sources (S3, RDS, DynamoDB, APIs, on-premise databases, etc.).
  • Build and manage ETL/ELT processes using Glue Studio, PySpark, or AWS DataBrew for data preparation and transformation.
  • Develop and optimise data models in Redshift and Athena to support analytical and reporting needs.
  • Integrate with data catalogues and governance frameworks using AWS Glue Data Catalog, Lake Formation, and Amorphic metadata services.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines for data workflows using CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and Terraform.
  • Ensure data quality, performance tuning, and cost efficiency across AWS services.
  • Support the setup of QuickSight dashboards and APIs for downstream analytics and AI use cases.
  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and sprint planning, following agile best practices.
  • Work with customers and internal teams to troubleshoot data issues and optimise solutions for scale.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience as a Data Engineer working with AWS cloud-based data solutions.
  • Strong programming skills in Python (PySpark, Pandas, Boto3).
  • Proven experience with AWS data services such as:
  • S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift, Lambda, EMR, Step Functions, CloudWatch, IAM, Kinesis.
  • Experience in data warehousing, SQL performance tuning, and schema design.
  • Understanding of ETL/ELT principles, data partitioning, and lakehouse architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform or CloudFormation for IaC.
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile delivery methods.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to scalability and performance.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Databricks, AWS Glue Studio, or SageMaker Data Wrangler.
  • Exposure to Amorphic Data Cloud or similar data management platforms.
  • Knowledge of data governance, security frameworks, and AWS cost optimisation.
  • Familiarity with Quicksight, Power BI, or Tableau for BI integration.
  • AWS Certification (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty, Solutions Architect Associate) is a plus.

Why Join Cloudwick

  • Work with cutting-edge AWS technologies and enterprise-scale data platforms.
  • Collaborate with top-tier clients in the public sector, energy, retail, and telecom industries.
  • Be part of a high-growth, innovation-driven culture recognised as AWS Social Impact Partner of the Year.
  • Access continuous learning and AWS certification support.
  • Enjoy a flexible, hybrid work environment with opportunities for global collaboration.
