Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care and support to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personalised care, companionship, and assistance with daily activities.

Duties

  • Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Provide support with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
  • Administer medication as prescribed and monitor health conditions.
  • Offer companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental well-being.
  • Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies for clients with dementia or Alzheimer's care needs.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring hygiene standards are met.
  • Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to the supervising nurse or manager.
  • Drive clients to appointments or social outings as required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in caregiving, senior care, or home care is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of patient care practices, including first aid and medication administration.
  • Experience in nursing home settings or hospice care is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with Alzheimer's and dementia care techniques is beneficial.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and their families.
  • A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed while assisting clients.
