Hereford, Herefordshire, United Kingdom Hoople Group Full time

Job Title:
Early helpFamily Support Worker
Salary:
HC07 £32,061 - £36,363 per annum
Contract:
Permanent
Hours:
37
Location:
Plough Lane, Hereford
Relocation package of up to £10,000 available
Introduction
The Early Help family support team is seeking to appoint two dynamic family support workers. You will work directly with vulnerable children (aged 0-18) and their families to promote their welfare and development. You will be delivering targeted support in the home using a solution focussed approach to build supportive and empowering relationships with families and reduce the need for higher level support. We work in close partnership with other agencies and professionals across Herefordshire to provide and co-ordinate a package of support that will address all the family's needs.

The Role
You will have experience of working with children and their families in a multi-agency environment and be skilled at engaging children, young people and families to deliver a wide range of interventions. We will provide you with regular supervision, training, the opportunity for progressive professional development and the chance to work with a well-established team dedicated and committed to achieving best outcomes for children in Herefordshire.

As an Early Help Family Support Worker you will be responsible for helping to improve outcomes for children and young people through direct work in family homes or from children's centres/community venues. Knowledge and experience of delivering targeted evidence-based services to families is desirable alongside the ability to encourage engagement and enhance children's development and early experiences. Within the role you will be responsible for assessing children's needs, working with their families and support network to achieve positive outcomes and sustained change.

Ideally you will have experience of working in a multiagency team environment as collaboration with colleagues and partner agencies is essential to the role. You will work within a team that covers the whole of Herefordshire, so the ability to drive and access to a car is key. Whilst you will have opportunities to work with other team members there will be times when lone working is required.

If you are excited by the prospect of working for a service that put the needs of children and families at the heart of everything we do, then we would really like to hear from you.

*About You*

  • Dynamic and committed professional with a strong drive to support children in achieving the best possible start in life.
  • Ambitious and passionate about child development and improving outcomes for children and young people.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Early Help and Child Development, including practical application in family settings.
  • Experience working with young children and families, ideally in a supportive or intervention role.
  • Ability to deliver targeted, evidence-based services to families to encourage engagement and enhance children's development.
  • Strong assessment skills to identify children's needs and work collaboratively with families and their support networks to achieve positive, sustained change.
  • Effective collaboration skills for working within multiagency teams and building strong partnerships with colleagues and external agencies.
  • Flexibility and independence, including the ability to work alone when required while maintaining professional standards.
  • Full driving license and access to a car, as the role involves travel across Herefordshire.

We Offer
A competitive salary, holiday entitlement, and access to our contributory pension and staff benefits scheme, which includes:

  • Salary range of £32,061 - £36,363
  • Market rate supplement: £5,000 per annum
  • Professional development: protected time and budget to develop yourself and your career
  • Enrolment in the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)
  • Career progression: clear pathways to progress
  • Annual Leave: 31 days' annual leave (pro rata) plus bank holidays. You can also purchase an additional 10 days per annum during the request period
  • Flexible working: including the potential for job-sharing, part-time hours and agile working.
  • Employee Assistance Programme: 24/7 access to support and counselling
  • Payment of professional membership fees (based on role requirements)
  • Pick your perks - our benefits include access to a range of retail, leisure, holiday and health benefits. This includes savings, cash back and discounts.
