Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Validation Engineer to join our established and growing Validation team.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical experience in protocol generation, execution, and reporting, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
This is a diverse and hands-on role that combines Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation (CQV) activities with thermal mapping expertise, supporting a wide range of regulated equipment, utilities, and processes.
You will play a key role across a variety of CQV and validation activities, contributing to protocol development, execution, data review, and client engagement to ensure customer requirements and GxP standards are consistently met.
The position offers a hybrid working model, balancing time between our offices, home-based work, and customer sites across the UK, delivering high-quality validation services and upholding Ellab's reputation for excellence and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and execute validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ) in line with client requirements and regulatory standards (GxP, MHRA, FDA).
- Perform thermal mapping studies for controlled temperature units such as autoclaves, ovens, fridges, freezers, incubators and warehouses.
- Conduct equipment and process validation activities, including autoclave and sterilisation validation.
- Analyse validation data, prepare comprehensive reports and present results to clients.
- Ensure compliance with GMP, GxP and industry best practices in all validation activities.
- Work collaboratively with customers to scope projects, troubleshoot issues and provide expert technical guidance.
- Maintain accurate documentation and calibration of validation equipment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the validation team.
- Represent Ellab professionally on customer sites, ensuring projects are completed on time and to high quality standards.
Role Requirements-
Essential:
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Life Sciences or related discipline.
- Proven experience in validation engineering, particularly in thermal mapping and equipment qualification.
- Hands-on experience with protocol generation/execution.
- Familiarity with GxP, GMP and relevant regulatory guidelines.
- Strong analytical, organisational and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and customer facing abilities.
- Ability to travel to customer sites.
Desirable:
- Experience using Ellab thermal validation equipment or equivalent systems.
- Previous experience working within regulated environments (pharma, biotech, medical devices).
- Knowledge of data integrity principles and electronic data systems.
