We are working with a client to find a highly organised and enthusiastic Finance/Accounts Assistant to join a busy finance function. This is a crucial, hands-on role perfect for an individual who already has a solid foundation in accounting and business operations.

The Day-to-Day: What You'll Be Doing

You'll be providing essential support to the Finance Manager and working closely with all departments to ensure efficient daily operations.

Your duties will focus on processing core accounting activities. This includes financial administration such as accurately processing purchase invoices and assisting with bank duties, including preparing payment runs and helping to reconcile different currencies (USD/EUR). You will be a key contact point, helping administer sales orders and assisting with customer queries related to payments, which involves providing essential back-up support for credit control duties and customer liaison. Beyond finance, you will handle general office administration and be the first point of contact for telephone enquiries and visitors.

The Ideal Candidate: What We Need

We are looking for someone with proven capabilities in an accounts environment who is ready to hit the ground running.

Ideally, you will be AAT Level 3 Diploma qualified or have gained equivalent work experience in a comparable role. You must be highly numerate with a strong commitment to accuracy and detail. This role is varied and fast-paced, so you need to be a self-motivated, methodical organiser who is happy to jump between tasks and manage multiple priorities. Previous credit control experience is a distinct advantage, or you must demonstrate a willingness to develop quickly in this area. You will need good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and any familiarity with ERP systems (like Sage 200) is a significant bonus.
