Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Accounting Officer to support our finance operations. This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, handling day-to-day accounting tasks, and actively managing aged debt to ensure healthy cash flow. The ideal candidate will have solid accounting experience, a good understanding of debt collection processes, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, journals, and ledgers.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Reconcile bank statements and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Monitor and manage the aged debt report, ensuring timely follow-up on overdue accounts.
  • Liaise with clients and internal teams to resolve outstanding debts and escalate problematic accounts when necessary.
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial reports, statements, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with external audits by preparing and submitting required financial documentation.
  • Perform general accounting and administrative tasks as assigned by the Finance Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or currently pursuing).
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting or bookkeeping experience.
  • Strong understanding of aged debt management and credit control procedures.
  • Proficiency in Sage accounting software or similar
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional approach to client interactions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines independently.
  • Experience in running payroll would also be an advantage but not a key part of the role
