Position: Mobile Mechanic / Vehicle Technician (Subcontractor)

Company: Marcu Motors Ltd

Location: Bedfordshire & Northamptonshire (Mobile)

Type: Self-employed subcontractor

Hours: Flexible – work available Monday to Friday

Pay: Minimum£18 per hour

Requirements:

  • Minimum Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent)

  • Must be registered as self-employed (UTR number required).

  • Must hold a valid UK driving licence.

  • Must have own tools and diagnostic equipment (or willing to use company equipment as agreed).

  • Must hold public liability insurance (minimum £1M cover).

  • Ability to work independently and represent Marcu Motors Ltd professionally.

  • Reliable, punctual, and customer-focused.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out vehicle diagnostics, servicing, and repairs.

  • MOT Licence and being able to carry out MOT'S will have a higher hourly rate.

  • Ensure high-quality workmanship and professional communication with clients.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

  • Complete job sheets and submit invoices promptly.

Payment Terms:

  • Subcontractors will be paid weekly, one week in arrears upon receipt of invoice.

(Example: work completed in week 1 will be paid on the Friday of week 2.)

  • Rate negotiable

  • This is a self-employed subcontractor position, not employment. The subcontractor is responsible for their own tax, insurance, and pension contributions.
