Level 3 qualification would be desirable but not essential. Rate of pay would be dependent on age, qualifications and experience.

We are looking for a personable team player to join our current team of 6. This includes the husband and wife owners, a receptionist and 3 Mot testers / mechanics. We aim to keep long term staff. We believe in treating our staff well, making everybody feel an important part of the team and making work a nice place to be.

We are a long established mot and service centre with some body shop facilities working on all makes and models of car and light commercial vehicles in a well equipped main road workshop. We currently have a class 4 Mot bay as well as 4 ramps and a body shop and 2 other bays. Potential candidates should have at least enough experience to be able to work unassisted on the majority of jobs. We like staff to follow their passions and any particular interests in the trade will be supported and incorporated where possible. Everyone in our garage brings something different to the business and this is what makes us so diverse in skills and jobs we undertake. No two days are the same.

Specialist tools are provided but own tools are essential. We have a variety of diagnostic equipment, tyre fitting facilities, air conditioning equipment and four wheel alignment. We are looking for an honest, punctual, hard working individual who likes a challenge and enjoys the variety of working at an independent workshop. We have a large clean workshop and secure yard with plenty of off road parking including for staff. We have an equipment strong room with monitored alarm and cctv. We have a separate canteen with fridge and microwave for staff use.

From January next year we are trying something different to give ourselves and out staff a better work / life balance. The working hours will be Tuesday to Friday. This will be a working week of 39.20 hours with 3 breaks a day. Overtime is sometimes available when work load requires, but not expected. We will have fixed holidays in February, April, June, August, October and December all within Kirklees school holidays.

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
