We are looking for an experienced, reliable, approachable and dedicated Level 2 or Level 3 Nursery Nurse to assist the Senior room leader in our preschool room.

The following responsibilities:-

  • Assisting the Senior Room leader in line with EYFS and internal procedures.

  • Stepping up in to the Room leader role in their absence and be responsible for the daily running and administration of the room in their absence, adhering to the Policies & Procedures of Jigsaw Day Nursery and compliance with the Children Act, Health and Safety legislation and within the guidelines of Ofsted and the National Standards. Ensuring confidentiality is maintained in the nursery.

  • Supporting and liaising with the Senior Room Leader Nursery Manager's on a daily basis.

  • Supervising staff and students, recognising training needs, monitoring training and developing teamwork.

  • Assisting the Senior Room Leader and Nursery Managers to ensure a tier system of management is in place and that duties are delegated fairly.

  • Maintaining staff ratios and ensuring staff are deployed effectively.

Care and supervision of the children with regard to their physical, emotional and intellectual needs.

  • Planning and preparing activities to develop all aspects of the child's individual development in a stimulating atmosphere. Having good knowledge about the Early Years Foundation Stage.

  • Ensuring that the preparation, care, cleanliness and maintenance of the nursery playrooms, kitchen and equipment are carried out according to the Policies & Procedures and risk assessments.

  • Liaising with parents and negotiating working targets ensuring effective communication within the nursery.

  • Working with the Nursery Manager to maintain administrative records as directed.

  • Keeping and monitoring accident, incident and risk assessment records.

  • Attendance and management of staff meetings at times appointed by the Nursery Manager's.

  • Offering all children equal opportunities with regard to their religious persuasion, racial origins, gender, disabilities, cultural or linguistic background; in particular, challenging situations where racism or discrimination is displayed.

  • Any other duties appropriate to the post as directed by the Nursery Managers.

You must be at least Level 2 qualified with a relative Childcare qualification

A minimum of 2 year experience is required.

Interviews are being conducted immediately.

Job Type: Part-time Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday (24 hours per week) or Full time (40 hours per week) - All year round and Term time options available.

Pay: £12.21-£13.00 per hour
