Job description
We have a fantastic opportunity for a part-time veterinary receptionist to join our team primarily based at our Leyburn surgery. The ideal candidate will be positive, professional, and great with people as you will be the first point of contact for our clients in person, over the phone and via email.
Minimum of 18.5 hours a week to include one Saturday morning in four
Holiday cover as additional hours. May include shifts at our Hawes branch.
Regular working pattern of Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 3.30pm – 6pm. Tuesdays 10.30am- 6pm and one in four Saturdays 8.30 am – 12.30pm.
Wage dependant on experience and inclusive of a nest pension fund.
33 days holiday pro rata, this includes public holidays in England and Wales, and a birthdays off
Role to include:
Opening and closing the premises.
Answering phone enquiries, booking appointments including farm visits for both our Leyburn and Hawes branches.
Use of our practice management system. Training will be provided but good IT skills will help
Communicating with clients using various methods including social media and communication apps.
Registering new clients.
Taking payments.
Assisting Veterinary Surgeons and Registered Veterinary nurses according to Practice Procedures.
Maintaining a clean, hygienic and safe environment.
Covering shifts at Hawes branch when required.
You will have:
- Customer service experience either on a busy reception desk and/or front of house.
Experience dealing with enquiries and interacting with the general public.
Experience working with basic IT systems (Word, Outlook, Excel)
A good standard of secondary education including passes in English and Mathematics at GCSE or equivalent.
Compassionate and caring attitude.
Ability to perform under pressure in a busy environment, prioritising a variety of tasks in a calm and professional manner.
Beneficial but not essential to have:
- Experience within a Veterinary Practice.
Good background understanding of farming/animal husbandry.
