As a Field Service Engineer, you'll cover a regional patch within the UK (M62 Corridor) – no nationwide scrambling, no constant hotel stays. You'll be the face of the business, servicing, repairing, and installing a high-end range of machinery. There's no pressure for volume callouts – just quality technical work, backed by optional travel to Europe and training opportunities in Japan. Job Responsibilities

Install precision machinery including electrical, electronic, and mechanical components to manufacturer specificationsDiagnose faults and carry out on-site repair work for CNC and metal-cutting machineryOrder replacement parts and complete repairs in line with technical documentationLiaise with the Service Manager on job progress and flag any major customer or technical issuesTrain customers on general machine maintenance to reduce avoidable calloutsMaintain detailed records and documentation for each machine install or serviceAttend training on new machinery launches to ensure up-to-date product knowledgeWork independently and manage your own service scheduleOccasionally travel into Europe if desired (optional – not mandatory)

Skills and Experience

Previous experience as a Field Service Engineer working on high-precision machineryBackground in CNC lathes, metal-cutting, or similar equipment essentialStrong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skillsConfident with PLC systems and ladder logicAble to read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and manualsProven ability to manage your own time and workload on the road

Pay and Benefits

Salary up to £35,000OTE £48,000+ with bonusesMonday to Friday – circa 40 hours per weekCompany car (BMW 330e or similar)Annual company performance bonusMonthly bonus paid per machine soldUp to 6% matched pension contribution22 days holiday plus bank holidays
