Job description

The role will include implementation of the commercial management processes and procedures, from tender to final account including involvement in estimating, the bid process, review of contract documentation, control and monitoring of change in contracts as well as the management of claims and variation accounts, cash flow awareness along with accurate preparation of accounts in terms of cost/revenues and individual project financial statements.

Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years' post graduate experience and preferably with a main contractor.

Typical duties & responsibilities:

  • To carry out duties as quantity surveyor for projects as required.
  • Estimating for new project tenders
  • Negotiate and agree subcontractors.
  • Ensure subcontract orders are prepared in accordance with company procedure in accordance with the contract programme having achieved the appropriate approvals.
  • Prepare or assist with cost value reconciliation reports on a monthly basis, accurately reporting the forecast final financial position of the project.
  • Work closely with contracts management and undertake procurement of materials
  • Management and monitoring of project costs
  • Preparing, submitting, and agreeing Interim Valuations.
  • Ensure final accounts are closed in a timely manner.
  • Meet with clients commercial representative to agree variations and valuations
  • Liaise with Contracts Manager when dealing with client's representatives and other stakeholders including attendance at meetings

THE PERSON

The suitable candidate will have:

  • BSc in Quantity Surveying
  • Experience with civil engineering projects
  • Knowledge of current forms of contract
  • Minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience.
  • Strong time management skills.

SALARY WILL BE NEGOTIABLE

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
