We are currently looking for a Research Scientist – SPR to join a leading pharmaceutical company based in the Berkshire area. As the Research Scientist, you will be responsible for contributing to drug discovery efforts by performing biochemical and biophysical assays, such as SPR (Surface Plasmon Resonance).

Key Duties And Responsibilities
Your duties as the Research Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

  • As the Research Scientist, you will develop and perform both biophysical and biochemical protein binding assays using techniques such as SPR or FRET to generate high-quality data for hit identification and lead optimisation.
  • As the Research Scientist, you will characterise binding kinetics and assess functional properties of potential therapeutic molecules using SPR to inform project milestones.
  • As the Research Scientist, you will collaborate with cross-functional project teams, sharing insights and driving data-informed decisions.
  • As the Research Scientist, you will use data capture tools, analyse data using curve fitting and statistical software, and summarise results to present at project meetings.

Role Requirements
To be successful in your application to this exciting role as the Research Scientist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

  • Relevant degree in biophysics, biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Proven industry experience in SPR affinity and kinetic-based assays for small molecule screening.
  • A working knowledge and practical experience with developing and validating in-vitro plate-based biochemical assays (e.g., FRET).
