Panoramic Associates are supporting a Local Authority in the South East to appoint a
Climate Change & Biodiversity Specialist
on a short-term contract running until early March. You'll provide expert input into the council's environmental strategy, driving climate action and delivering biodiversity priorities across the region.

Responsibilities include:

• Advising on climate change mitigation and adaptation policies
• Supporting the development and delivery of the council's Climate Action Plan
• Providing technical expertise on biodiversity, nature recovery and habitat enhancement
• Ensuring compliance with national environmental legislation (including Biodiversity Net Gain)
• Reviewing environmental evidence, reports and assessments
• Contributing to strategic planning and sustainability programmes
• Engaging with internal teams, elected members and community stakeholders
• Preparing reports, briefings and recommendations to support decision-making
• Supporting grant applications and external funding bids

We are looking for:

• Proven experience in climate change, biodiversity, ecology, or environmental planning
• Experience working within a Local Authority/public sector environment
• Strong knowledge of climate policy, Net Zero pathways & Biodiversity Net Gain
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to work independently and deliver to tight deadlines
