What We're Looking For
We want people who are:
- Caring and committed – with a genuine love for helping children grow and thrive.
- Eager to learn – open to ongoing training, development, and professional growth.
- Team players – who can collaborate, communicate, and support one another.
- Proactive and organised – able to use initiative and manage your day effectively to ensure a smooth, happy environment for children and staff alike.
- Fun At The Beehive, play is learning and you must be able to interact, role-play and be a 'play-person' yourself, in order to meet the needs of every child
You will work closely with the Room Leader and Nursery Management Team to create a warm, stimulating, and nurturing space where every child feels valued.
Overview of the Role
As a Nursery Practitioner, you will:
- Create a welcoming, inclusive and caring environment for children and their families.
- Act as Key Person for a group of children.
- Provide high-quality childcare and learning experiences for children under five, planning a wide range of engaging and age-appropriate activities that reflect the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and the Characteristics of Effective Learning.
- Support children's personal care routines, observe and document their learning journeys, and plan next steps for their development.
- Build strong, positive partnerships with parents, keeping them informed of their child's progress through daily communication, termly updates, and parent meetings.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, including the SENCo and external agencies, to support all children, including those with additional needs.
- Promote an environment that values diversity and inclusion, ensuring every child feels recognised and respected.
- Follow all nursery policies, including those for safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality, and equality of opportunity.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and organisation, participating in rota duties and ensuring resources are well cared for.
- Attend team meetings, training sessions, supervisions, and nursery events, contributing ideas and supporting the ongoing development of the setting.
- Ensure mealtimes are happy, social occasions that encourage good manners and conversation.
- Uphold the nursery's high standards at all times, both within and outside of working hours.
About You
- A passion for Early Years and a commitment to delivering exceptional care is essential.
- A love of the great outdoors-we go out in all weathers
