Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated, driven and ambitious 'Second in Command' to work as Silverlake's Head of Parts. Working to our Executive Deputy Head of Operations, the role holder will support our day to day to operations across multiple departments, including, Decision Making Unit (DMU), Parts Prep, Stores, Shipping, U-Pick-it, Full-Service Counter, Tyre Bay, Exports, Telesales, and Bodyshop.

This role acts as the operational right-hand to our Executive Deputy Head of Operations, ensuring seamless coordination between teams, maintaining high performance standards, and driving continuous improvement across the range of different operational areas.

You'll be hands-on, detail-focused, and comfortable balancing strategic oversight with day-to-day management

Responsibilities

Operational (and Strategic) Leadership

Support our Executive Deputy Head of Operations in the management of the different operational departments to ensure smooth workflow and delivery of business objectives.

Act as Deputy in the Executive Deputy Head of Operations absence, making informed decisions and maintaining continuity across operations.

Monitor performance metrics, productivity, and service quality across all teams.

Ensure effective communication between departments to maintain efficiency and collaboration.

Team Management and Development

Lead, coach, and motivate supervisors and team leaders across Parts Prep, Stores and Shipping, and the other listed service areas.

Drive a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Identify training needs and support staff development initiatives.

Process Improvement

Work closely with the Executive Deputy Head of Operations to streamline procedures, reduce waste, and improve efficiency across all operational areas.

Identify operational bottlenecks and implement practical solutions.

Support system and process updates, including digital tools and reporting improvements.

Customer and Stakeholder Relations

Ensure high standards of service delivery to both internal and external customers, including Export, Telesales and Body shop clients.

Liaise with other departments and senior leaders to align operational outputs with business goals.

Support escalations or complex issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.

Performance and Compliance

Maintain adherence to health, safety, and quality standards across all departments.

Support inventory management, logistics coordination, and cost control measures.

Prepare operational reports and updates for the Executive Deputy Head of Operations and for senior management.

Key Skills and Experience

Proven experience in an operations, logistics, or production management role, ideally in an automotive, distribution, or service-based environment.

Clear leadership skills experience and responsibility for managing teams.

Hands-on approach with the ability to work at both strategic and operational levels.

Effective communicator with a collaborative and supportive leadership style.
