Who will you be working with?

Join Wabtec, a global leader in rail technology and services. As Head of Quality for Transit Services UK, you'll define and deploy quality strategies that ensure customer satisfaction and operational excellence across our product lines and regional operations.

Role: UK Head Of Quality

Salary: £Competitive

Location: Burton on Trent, Staffordshire, (DE13 8EN)

Hours: Monday to Thursday 07:00am to 16:00pm and Friday 07:00am to 12:30pm, 37 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

How will you make a difference?

You will lead the quality function for Transit Services UK, ensuring compliance, driving continuous improvement, and embedding a strong quality culture. Your role will directly impact customer experience, operational efficiency, and safety.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Define and implement the Quality strategy for the product line/region, aligned with Transit Quality objectives.
  • Monitor and control quality performance through KPIs to meet customer targets.
  • Manage customer quality interface, ensuring issues are resolved and escalated appropriately.
  • Support sites in achieving quality targets and compliance with QMS standards.
  • Lead and coach the quality team (PQE, Product Quality Engineers) to deliver excellence.
  • Deploy governance to secure project quality deliverables on time.
  • Ensure alignment with site quality managers and regional quality networks.
  • Develop and execute continuous improvement plans for quality performance.
  • Represent Wabtec in customer quality meetings with reliable data and professional communication.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Proven experience in quality leadership within engineering, rail, or complex industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of QMS, ISO standards, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to manage customer relationships and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strategic thinker with hands-on problem-solving capability.
  • IT literate and comfortable with data-driven decision-making.
