Commercial Director
who would like to help us reach our mission to "earn customer loyalty and drive business growth by providing consistently excellent service".
Purpose of this role
Lead and manage commercial strategy within GTC. The Commercial Director will lead and manage commercial strategy within GTC. This is a key leadership role responsible for contract negotiation, pricing strategy and key customer relationship management. Demonstrating deep knowledge of the new housing utilities sector, strong leadership, and expertise in commercial negotiations. The Commercial Director will play a pivotal role in supporting the Managing Director in achieving the company's commercial and strategic objectives.
Your Key Responsibilities Are
Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with company goals and market conditions.
Lead negotiations of complex, high-value commercial contracts with customers and suppliers.
Monitor market trends, customer behaviour, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
Drive innovation in commercial offerings, including bespoke solutions to address customer needs, sustainability solutions, and support continued development of digital platforms.
Monitor and manage contract performance and variations.
Proactively manage key customer accounts to maximise satisfaction, retention, and revenue.
Provide strategic direction to the Tendering Team to ensure high-quality, competitive, and winning bids.
Working with the Sales and Marketing Directors lead and develop high-performing commercial and account management teams.
Prepare commercial reports, forecasts, and board papers as required.
Work closely with the Managing Director to shape and deliver the commercial strategy.
Qualifications
Degree level in business, economics, engineering or related field.
Experience/Knowledge
Proven experience in a senior commercial role within the UK utilities sector.
Strong track record in delivering commercial growth and leading negotiations.
Deep understanding of new housing market, developer house builder requirements and competitive market structures
Experience supporting and advising C-suite executives, particularly Managing Directors or CEOs.
Abilities/Skills
Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to execution.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Strong financial acumen.
Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
Commercially minded, with a strategic outlook and a strong attention to detail.
Desirable
MBA.
Understanding of SOX audit requirements
