The role
We are a market-leading nature tech company on a mission to make nature measurable and actionable at scale. Our platform delivers vital insights on species, habitats, and nature-related risks, helping businesses across sectors - from mining and renewable to CGS and financial services - make smarter, more sustainable decisions.
As global leaders in biodiversity monitoring and eDNA analysis, we are transforming how nature is measured. Our technology makes biodiversity insights accessible, actionable, and scalable, powering change from conservation to industry. Recognised as Earthshot Prize Finalists 2024, BloombergNEF Pioneers 2024, World Economic Forum Technology Pioneers 2024, and part of the TechNation Future Fifty 2025, we are shaping the future of how organisations understand and protect nature.
As we enter a new phase of rapid global growth, we are seeking a Full Stack Engineer with a strong product mindset. You will join our blended software delivery teams to build end-to-end features for our transformational biodiversity platform. You won't just be writing code; you will be solving user problems, shaping the roadmap, and taking features from an initial concept through to a live product.
What you'll do
Own the full lifecycle: You will take ownership of features from the initial "whiteboard" concept through to deployment and monitoring in production. You embrace the "Product Engineering" mindset—caring as much about the outcome and user value as the code implementation.
Build across the stack: You will design and implement complex solutions using Go/Python on the back-end and build intuitive, responsive user interfaces using React and TypeScript.
Architecture design: You will design and deliver scalable, cloud based microservices (REST, GraphQL) and leverage AI to accelerate development.
Data Integration: You will work with complex data estates, utilizing Neo4j, NoSQL, and relational databases to surface biodiversity insights.
Collaborate and Communicate: Strong communication is essential. You will work closely with other Engineers, Data Scientists, Bioinformaticians, and Product Managers to translate complex requirements into seamless user experiences.
Customer Obsession: You will look beyond the ticket. You are interested in how customers use the platform and are willing to iterate rapidly based on feedback and usage data.
Impactful Delivery: High-quality, user-centric features are shipped regularly, providing tangible value to our customers.
Seamless UX/UI: Complex biodiversity data is presented in an accessible, intuitive way via a robust front-end.
Collaboration: You act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding of requirements and trade-offs.
Scalability: A robust microservices architecture is maintained, enabling rapid feature development without sacrificing stability.
Ownership: You proactively identify areas for product improvement and drive them forward without waiting for permission.
About you
What you'll bring
We are looking for an engineer who loves building products, not just software.
Experience: Time spent as a Software Engineer within a start-up/scale-up environment, with a track record of shipping live products.
Communication: Strong communication skills are a must. You can articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and discuss product trade-offs effectively.
Front-End Fluency: Strong experience with React and TypeScript. You care about the "feel" of the application.
Back-End Expertise: Fluent in GoLang or Python. is a bonus.
Database Skills: Experience with NoSQL, Neo4J (Graph DB), and relational databases.
Architecture: Experience with microservice architectures, containerisation, and K8s deployment (Argo CD).
Testing: Commitment to quality with experience across a range of automated testing approaches.
It would be advantageous if you have:
Experience with DevOps on AWS or GCP.
Familiarity with geospatial data analysis, frameworks, and formats.
Previous experience in healthtech / life sciences.
What's in it for you
- Competitive Salary
- Impactful work with a purpose-driven team
- Opportunities for professional growth
- Benefits package including salary sacrifice pension scheme prioritising sustainability; life assurance; Enhanced annual leave; Cycle to Work Scheme; enhanced family friendly policy; £250 L&D budget to use on our Learning platform, Learnerbly.
