Overview

Marketing and Conference Organiser Internship (Contracted 5 month period starting November 2025) but could become permanent.

Alba Orbital is looking for an Intern ( 5 months till end March 2026) to join our satellite Business development team.

The candidate will have the chance to exercise their initiative, adaptability and drive in a fast-paced, highly technical environment. This role will have an emphasis on Event planning for our PocketQube Conference in March 2026.

Responsibilities:
Lead the initiative to expand the PocketQube launch market by organising the PocketQube Conference. Develop skills in event planning, marketing strategy, and communication, contributing to the democratisation of space access.

Project Description:

The primary focus will be on creating and executing strategic initiatives to showcase the advantages of PocketQubes and their potential to democratize access to space.

The successful applicant will coordinate the organisation of the PocketQube Conference, planning and securing sponsors/exhibitors. This involves engaging with industry stakeholders, coordinating speakers, and ensuring a seamless event experience. Experience in reaching out to potential sponsors/exhibitors is required.

This also includes developing content, coordinating digital and social media campaigns, and analysing campaign performance metrics.

The project aims to enhance the intern's skills in event planning, marketing strategy, and communication while contributing to Alba Orbital's mission of advancing small satellite technology. This internship offers a unique blend of technical and non-technical skills development, providing the intern with a comprehensive understanding of marketing and events management in the context of space technology and small satellite launches.

Applicant Specification:

  • A relevant undergraduate or postgraduate degree, with a focus on 
    Marketing

    Business

    Event Management

    Engineering, Psychology
     or a related field.

Minimum requirements:

  • Basic understanding of marketing principles and Event management concepts.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous selling skills.
  • Desirable requirements:
  • Previous experience in event planning or marketing, either through coursework, internships, or extracurricular activities.
  • Good understanding social media platforms and digital marketing tools.
  • Creative thinking and the ability to contribute innovative ideas to marketing campaigns.
  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with team members in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of the space industry, especially small satellite technologies, would be advantageous.
  • Graphic design skills or experience using design software.
  • Process details:
  • 5 months minimum fixed term contract to be agreed with successful candidate. Could be extended to full time for the correct candidate.
