Job Summary:
The Assessment Specialist is part of a multi-disciplinary clearance team. They are charged with conducting initial screenings with potential clients and delivering the preliminary level of care (LOC) recommendation.
Major Responsibilities:
- Conducts the initial screening to determine a client's preliminary level of care.
- Works closely with Clearance Manager in clinical determination of clients to help determine best level of care.
- Collaborates with the admissions team to capture appropriate clinical data and complete urgent follow up with related treatment professionals.
- Determines level 1 clearance decisions based on clinical clearance matrix.
- Responsible for detailed system documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Specific Skills/Competencies:
- Understanding of severity of illness and intensity of service criteria for various levels of care.
- Sound clinical judgment and clinical skills.
- Ability to manage crises.
- Proficient at moving clients through the admissions process expeditiously and compassionately.
- Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Able to work for prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Counseling-related field, required.
- Experience working in mental health, preferred.
- Familiarity with DSM-5 diagnoses.
The salary range for this position is $70,000-$78,380 annually.
