Swancote Energy is seeking a motivated and detail-driven Engineering Assistant to support engineering, maintenance, and inventory operations on site.

Essential Skills & Qualities:

  • Graduate engineer or similar technical background.
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills.
  • Good communication skills and willingness to learn.
  • Proactive and able to work independently when required.
  • The ideal candidate would live within 25miles of site and have access to a car.

Key Responsibilities:

Planned Engineering Activity

  • Support the development and upkeep of engineering and maintenance plans for routine and project-based activities.
  • Assist with coordinating shutdown, preventive, and corrective maintenance.
  • Ensure adherence to health & safety and compliance requirements.

Spares & Inventory Management

  • Ensure spares and consumables are available ahead of planned engineering work.
  • Reduce downtime through proactive and accurate inventory management.

KPI Management & Reporting

  • Monitor and report on engineering KPIs (schedule adherence, PM/Breakdown ratios, MTTR, downtime trends).
  • Provide insight and recommendations to maintenance leadership.

Engineering Stores Ownership

  • Manage inventory processes, including stock levels, classification, critical spares review, and obsolescence management.
  • Lead periodic reviews and drive continuous improvement in materials management.
  • Support ordering and budget control.

Stakeholder & Supplier Engagement

  • Work collaboratively with engineering, utilities, facilities, supply chain, and operations teams.
  • Assist with supplier coordination and communication.

Swancote Energy operates a state-of-the-art Anaerobic Digestion plant in the West Midlands which processes 75,000mt of a combination of all types of food wastes (in any form of packaging) and energy crops to produce green electricity. This electricity is used to power a local factory owned by the area's largest employer
