Role Overview:
This exciting new role sits within the Finance and Commercial team and is responsible for providing high-quality financial support to the business. The position focuses on delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, insightful analysis, and effective business partnering. You will support the Finance Manager across a range of financial and commercial activities, including month-end processes, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and cash management.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with month-end close activities, ensuring deadlines are met.
- Prepare detailed variance analysis across revenue, costs, and operational metrics.
- Support the annual budget and periodic forecasting cycles, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Prepare journals and maintain key balance sheet reconciliations.
- Administer and oversee commission, incentive, or performance-related schemes where applicable.
- Prepare information and supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
- Produce financial and operational KPIs for management review.
- Help ensure compliance with internal controls, delegated authorities, and approval processes.
- Liaise with cash collection teams and support working capital improvement initiatives.
- Assist in preparing business cases or capital investment requests.
- Provide financial data and analytical support to commercial and operational teams.
- Provide cover for the Finance Manager during periods of absence.
- Undertake ad-hoc analysis and projects as required.
Key Working Relationships:
- Reports directly to the Finance Manager
- Collaborates closely with the Controllership / Financial Accounting team and Corporate Finance
- Partners with operational managers, sales teams, commercial functions, and other business stakeholders
Qualifications:
- Part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent)
- Experience in a commercial, services, or project-based environment is advantageous
