Helper in kitchen

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Helper to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. The Kitchen Helper will assist with basic food preparation, cleaning duties, and ensuring health and safety standards are upheld. Responsibilities

• Assisting chefs and kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, and assembling ingredients
• Maintaining cleanliness of work surfaces, utensils, and kitchen equipment in accordance with hygiene standards
• Washing dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchenware promptly and efficiently
• Organising storage areas and ensuring ingredients are properly labelled and stored at correct temperatures
• Supporting stock rotation by checking expiry dates and replenishing supplies as needed
• Disposing of waste responsibly and ensuring the kitchen remains tidy throughout shifts
• Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times to prevent accidents or contamination
• Assisting with setting up dining areas or serving stations when required

Requirements

• Previous experience in a kitchen environment is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
• Good organisational skills with an eye for cleanliness and detail
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work during busy periods, including weekends or evenings if necessary
• Basic understanding of food hygiene standards and safety procedures
• Willingness to learn new skills and take direction from senior staff
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting moderate loads
