Job Summary
An Assistant Practice Manager supports the Practice Manager in daily operations, staff supervision, and administrative tasks, ensuring the practice runs smoothly and efficiently. Key responsibilities include assisting with human resources, managing staff schedules, overseeing patient services, ensuring compliance with regulations, and handling more complex patient and staff issues.

- Operational Support: Assist the Practice Manager with the day-to-day running of the practice, including managing administrative workflows and deputizing in the Practice Manager's absence.
- Staff Management: Provide guidance and leadership to the administrative and non-clinical staff, helping with recruitment, training, and ensuring staff are productive.
- Patient Services: Oversee patient services functions, ensuring a strong link between clinical staff and patients, and managing complex patient enquiries and complaints.
- Compliance and Quality: Help ensure the practice meets regulatory standards (like CQC compliance) and internal key performance indicators.
- Administrative Tasks: Manage various administrative duties such as organizing appointment rotas, taking minutes for meetings, ordering supplies, and managing the practice's email and telephony systems.
- HR and Finance Support: Assist with HR functions, such as staff training and development, and help ensure the practice is managed within budget.
Required skills and qualifications
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead and supervise teams.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to handle complex issues with staff and patients.
- Time Management: Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- IT Proficiency: Advanced IT skills, including experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience: Prior experience in an administrative, secretarial, or clerical role is often required, as is experience with performance management.
- Customer Service: Strong customer care skills.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
