The role
This is a key role within SSE Renewables' Offshore Asset Management team, responsible for shaping and delivering long-term strategic and short-term operational planning across a portfolio of world-class offshore wind farms. You'll lead a team of planners to optimise maintenance, minimise downtime, and maximise return on investment across multi-billion-pound renewable assets.
By joining us, you'll play a vital part in powering a net zero future — helping our offshore wind farms operate safely, efficiently, and sustainably for decades to come.
You will
- Lead long-term and short-term planning for offshore wind operations, driving efficiency, cost optimisation, and performance across the full asset lifecycle.
- Own and maintain production and revenue plans, integrating planned maintenance and realistic assumptions for unplanned downtime.
- Oversee work management systems (e.g., Maximo), ensuring best practice, automation, and consistency across all offshore assets.
- Build and lead a high-performing planning team, fostering collaboration, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
- Champion safety and compliance, embedding SSE's "zero harm" standards and industry best practice in all planning activities.
You have
- Proven experience in strategic asset planning within energy, utilities, or a similarly complex operational environment.
- Strong understanding of maintenance and production planning principles, ideally within offshore or renewables sectors.
- Proficiency in CMMS systems (Maximo essential) and planning tools ( Primavera P6 or MS Project an advantage).
- Knowledge of Project Management Methodologies such as APM, PMI or PRINCE2, with the ability to apply structured project principles to operational delivery.
- Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence, communicate effectively and drive positive change across diverse or remote teams.
