Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Envases UK, part of the privately owned Envases Group, are an internationally renowned manufacturer and supplier of specialist metal containers, serving a UK, European and US client base. Supplying into a range of Industrial and food industries, we have manufacturing capability from 125ml to 25 litre containers.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager this position is responsible for the overall maintenance of plant equipment and facilities ensuring the smooth running of primary / secondary manufacturing equipment and support. Cost, Quality and Delivery targets. The Engineer will engage in open inter-departmental communication and contribute to formal meetings to promote the continuous improvement of machine availability.

Detailed Responsibilities:

• To ensure equipment availability is in line with departmental targets.
• To engage in Root cause analysis of repeat / major breakdowns and provide reports with internal RAMS and rectification timing plans.
• To engineer out previous issues following a continuous improvement mind-set and methodologies.
• To facilitate the PM schedules and make recommendations for improvement.
• To support the internal customers with technical issues Inc. non-breakdown.
• To ensure Health, Safety and Environmental procedures are followed during maintenance activities.
• To maintain and improve the equipment to where feasible ensure quality is built in to confirm no faults forward.
• Attend training when required and adhere to defined standards.
• To apply 5S methodology in work area and entire facility.
• To align to departmental and company goals.
• To support management with ad-hoc projects as and when required

Person Specification

Experience:

At least 5 years working in a manufacturing environment.

Experience working with automated robotics

Experience working with PLC control systems

Experience in fault finding from electrical schematics

Experience in fault finding from hydraulic & pneumatic schematics

Experience in fault finding from mechanical drawings

To be able to communicate technical issues to non-technical staff

5S experience

Experience within PM/TPM/CI

Experience within metal or another packaging environment desirable

Experience of power press desirable

Health and Safety accreditation

Qualifications:

Apprenticeship trained in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum C & G craft qualification/NVQ level 3 qualification in related discipline.
