Work side-by-side with experienced engineers and planners at a UK nuclear power station, contributing to Britain's mission to reach net zero.

The Opportunity

This site-based role is located at a nuclear power station in
Lancashire
, where you'll work within the
Outage Planning team
– a critical function responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the plant during planned maintenance and shutdown periods.

You'll support:

  • Project planning and scheduling for key engineering works
  • Front-end engineering planning
  • Commercial and performance reviews
  • Risk assessments and stakeholder engagement

Previous students have worked on high-profile improvement programmes, contributing to progress tracking systems and data-informed decision-making that directly affects plant safety and performance.

Key Criteria / Must-Haves

To be eligible, you must:

  • Be on track to achieve (or have already achieved) a
    2:2 or higher
    in a
    bachelor's or postgraduate degree
    in one of the following:
  • Project Management
  • Engineering (any discipline)
  • Have a genuine interest in energy, infrastructure or project delivery
  • Demonstrate strong planning, coordination and communication skills
  • Be confident working in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment
  • Have the legal right to work in the UK by the placement start date
  • (Priority may be given to those who already hold this right)
