Overview

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic and experienced Barista to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering exceptional customer service while assisting with food preparation and beverage service. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and welcoming environment, ensuring that our customers have an enjoyable experience.

***SUCCESFUL CANDIDATES MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK 20+ HOURS***

**Availability over the Christmas period is essential, although please note we are closed on Christmas Day**

Duties

  • Prepare and serve food and beverages in accordance with food safety standards
  • Operate coffee machines and prepare a variety of coffee drinks, ensuring quality and consistency
  • Assist customers with menu selections and provide recommendations as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness of the cafe area, including tables, counters, and equipment
  • Handle cash transactions accurately, utilising basic math skills for processing payments
  • Manage time effectively to ensure prompt service during busy periods
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer satisfaction

Skills

  • Knowledge of food safety practices is essential to maintain hygiene standards
  • Previous barista experience is highly desirable for preparing specialty coffee drinks
  • Strong serving skills to provide attentive service to customers
  • Experience in food preparation to assist in creating menu items efficiently
  • Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and providing accurate change
  • Excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during peak hours
