Hours: 38.5 hours per week – early morning to afternoon shifts

Pay: Competitive, depending on experience

Lead Our Kitchen Team at Forest Manor

At Forest Manor Nursing Home, we pride ourselves on providing high-quality, nutritious, and delicious meals for our residents every day. We're looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Head Cook to lead our kitchen team and ensure mealtimes are consistently excellent.

What You'll Do:
  • Plan, prepare, and cook meals for residents, including special diets and nutritional needs.
  • Lead and manage the kitchen team, including mentoring and supporting other kitchen staff.
  • Ensure menus are balanced, varied, and comply with dietary requirements.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, food safety, and kitchen organisation in line with legal and care home regulations.
  • Manage kitchen stock, order supplies, and control food costs efficiently.
  • Assist with menu development and special events catering.
  • Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment and cleanliness.
What We're Looking For:
  • Proven experience as a cook or chef, ideally in a care home, hospital, or similar environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of dietary requirements for elderly residents, including allergies and special diets.
  • Level 2 (or higher) Food Hygiene Certificate is preferred.
  • Excellent organisational skills, reliability, and attention to detail.
  • Passionate about cooking and delivering high-quality meals that residents enjoy.
