Hybrid - travel to Manchester and London required on occasion (Ideally Manchester once a week)
At cinch our mission is simple - to remove the faff from buying and owning cars, giving customers more choice, with more ease (not to mention a free 90-day warranty on all cars...)
Already the UK's largest online used car retailer, we're expanding our offering with an exciting roadmap of online and physical retail solutions - including faff-free car servicing at over 100 locations across the country.
We're part of Constellation Automotive Group - a family of brands that also includes We Buy Any Car, British Car Auctions (BCA) and Marshall Motor Group. Together, cinch and Marshall operate as Constellation Retail - bringing together 100+ years of motoring know-how at 130+ stores (Marshall) with a market-leading digital experience from a much-admired brand (cinch).
The road ahead for you is clear. Join us and you'll get a unique opportunity to grow your career across two leading automotive brands that are really going places. Buckle up and enjoy the ride.
what you'll be working on
- Own the vision and roadmap for the part-exchange and order management products, driving a seamless and transparent experience from valuation to order completion
- Break down complex problems in to help a customer buy or sell a car working with teams within cinch and across Constellation Automotive Group
- Build and articulate your product vision to a growing team, breaking its delivery into meaningful and achievable goals
- Lead a key area of an evolving product with a talented multidisciplinary team (Engineers, UXers, Service Designers and Analysts)
- Planning the pipeline of delivery for your product, working closely with other product owners and stakeholders to manage dependencies and overlapping user journeys
Translate user needs into compelling user stories, bringing the whole team along for the ride - things we look for in you
- Commercially minded, balancing a compelling user value proposition with commercial needs
- Data centric approach – understand the research and numbers. Know what they're telling you about your customers and your product, know what signs of success to look for and how to get the data you need to make good decisions
- Care about the 'why' above all else and are prepared to cut through the noise to get there
- Ability to lead, organise and inspire designers and engineers with a clear and inclusive vision
- At home facilitating workshops and involving others in decision making
- Exceptional communication and relationship building skills, able to challenge and influence senior stakeholders and team members
- You have curiosity, resilience and a willingness to explore new technologies – including AI – to unlock better outcomes.
Passion above all else, you won't have all the answers from day one, but you'll know how to get there
things we'd love to see
- Experience of working on consumer credit products which put the customer first
- Ability to evaluate how to extract the most value from 3rd parties, and have helped shape external roadmaps to support your objectives
- You understand the do's and don'ts of operating in a regulated industry and can demonstrate previous examples of this
- You're an expert at balancing commercial objectives with customer outcomes
- Strong negotiation skills both internally and externally
- You have a vision on the future of finance and consumer credit products for the future and back this up with data and insight
Location: We have offices in London, Manchester, Bedford and Hook. Most of our Product & Engineering teams are based in Manchester but we are actively expanding our presence outside of Manchester. We welcome applicants from across the UK who can work in a hybrid model. Subject to government guidance, this hybrid working model will expect employees to spend a few days a month in the office alongside colleagues, while the others can be worked from home. You'll typically have a base office, which is the one that is closest to you.
Selection process: this will typically involve an initial chat with one of our recruitment team followed by a selection of competency-based interviews with stakeholders and the hiring manager.
Building the right workplace: Feel you would be good for this job but don't meet every single requirement? We know some people can be put off applying for roles unless they can tick every point on the job description. We want to build an inclusive and authentic workplace, so if you're excited about this role but your experience doesn't perfectly align, we encourage you to apply anyway. You might just be who we're looking for.
cinch and Rewards
cinch's benefits programme sees that our people are supported both in and out of work. That's what a faff-free life is all about. We offer:
• Competitive salaries and bonuses
• A company pension scheme
• Private Healthcare (Bupa)
• An Employee Assistance Programme
• Access to trained mental health first aiders
• Enhanced maternity, paternity, and adoption leave
And so much more
cinch and you
In making the most out of a career at cinch you need to be curious, creative, and collaborative. See, we are putting you in the driver's seat, in control of your career and ready to drive your own development. There's no bureaucracy, no hierarchy, just an environment with values that bring us together and a purpose that sets us apart. Join us as we continue to accelerate, defy expectations, and revolutionise an entire industry
Diversity and Inclusion
cinch wants to help all kinds of people in the UK find and buy a car. So it makes good sense to have all kinds of people working with us on the challenge. Conversations and the decisions they lead to are better for featuring different voices. Representation matters.
And doing your job while not being your authentic self is not faff-free. Being free to be the best of who you are as you soar to professional greatness is the kind of business we commit to creating, as one.
