Salary:

 Standard compensation for a 3-credit hour course begins at $4,750 per semester.

Basic Function:

The Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship at Kent State University, Kent Campus, invites applications for part-time faculty who can teach in-person on the Kent Campus one or more sections of the Social Media Marketing course beginning with the Spring 2026 semester.  Note the minimum requirements are a Master's degree in the teaching discipline or a closely related discipline and current industry work experience that is substantial in terms of duration (5 years at a minimum) and level of responsibility.

SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING Credit Hours   Junior-level

Explore the various opportunities and risks that social media marketing holds for firms. During the course students will learn about topics such as social media's effect on marketing, creating and managing brand presences on social media, creating and marketing a branded viral video, identifying online influencers.

Duties/essential functions may include, but not be limited to, the following: 

Adjunct faculty are expected to:

• Prepare course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handouts.
• Prepare and deliver learning activities to achieve course outcomes.
• Evaluate and grade students' class work, assignments, papers, and examinations.
• Maintain and submit student grades in a timely fashion and other required documentation by specified deadlines.
• Be available to students for office hours.
• Be sensitive to the needs of a diverse population.

Minimum Qualifications:

An MBA, its equivalent, or a master's degree in a relevant, related area (e.g., Advertising, Communications, Digital Media, Social Media, Public Relations) is required (a Ph.D. is preferred) with at least five years of recent relevant work experience.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

 Light work-Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Incumbent must be able to communicate with others. Incumbent may be required to travel from building to building frequently and off campus occasionally.
