Job description

Wakoos Centre4Children is looking for a highly motivated, energetic and creative individual to join our nursery team as a room supervisor to ensure the smooth daily running of the provision. Wakoos Centre4Children is a not for profit day nursery in Billingshurst with a sister site in Petworth. We provide care for children 3 months- 11 years in our day nursery, pre-school and out of school care.

Main responsibilities include:

* To oversee the work carried out in the room, to ensure quality of provision.

* To provide a safe, exciting and stimulating environment.

* To be responsible for the planning and provision of a learning environment which meets the needs of all the children in respect of their care and education.

* To ensure an effective daily routine in the room.

* To direct and support the childcare team within the room as agreed by the childcare manager.

* To ensure all work carried out meets current policies and procedures, e.g. health & safety; equal opportunities.

* To work closely with parents for effective partnership.

* To work with the management team in respect of development and review of the service.

* To provide excellent levels of care to the children including acting as a key worker.

* To conduct staff supervisions as required.

* Work as a team to audit the environment and learning provision.

* To plan and carry out team meetings.

* To ensure that accurate, up to date, records are kept within the room, e.g. planning; safeguarding children; accidents/incidents.

Positions are subject to DBS and references.

For this role we would like the practitioner to be qualified to level 3 or above, we would also consider practitioners training towards their level 3.

The hours for this position are 40 hours per week across 4 days and are all year round. We would also consider a job share.
