We're seeking a Senior Regulatory Accountant to lead the financial regulatory reporting process and ensure our performance aligns with the regulatory framework. This is a pivotal role in preparing for PR29 and understanding the impact of PR19 and PR24 on our forecasts and reconciliations.
You'll take ownership of the Annual Performance Report (APR) financial tables and work closely with Finance Business Partners to bridge the gap between International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Regulatory Accounting Guidelines (RAGs). Your ability to translate complex financial matters into meaningful insights for senior stakeholders will be key to success.
What will you be doing as a Senior Regulatory Accountant
- Own and lead the financial elements of the APR, ensuring high-quality, timely outputs
- Translate IFRS accounts to align with Regulatory Accounting Guidelines (RAGs)
- Develop and implement a cost allocation methodology using Tagetik to populate APR tables
- Collaborate with Finance Business Partners to produce internal reporting that supports regulatory understanding
- Support the development of quarterly APR reporting to enable in-year performance tracking
- Project manage the annual APR production and share knowledge across the finance team
- Work with the wider business to understand outputs against budgets and regulatory expectations
What does it take to be a Senior Regulatory Accountant?
- Professional accountancy qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA)
- Strong understanding of IFRS and regulatory accounting standards, particularly around capital expenditure and asset accounting
- Experience with operational assets and capital investment processes
- Financial awareness, including capitalisation policy and capital allowances
- Excellent IT skills, especially in SAP, Tagetik, and Microsoft Office
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate complex financial matters clearly
As a valued employee, you'll be entitled to:
- Double Matched Pension Scheme – matches your contributions up to 6% (up to 18% combined)
- 26 Days Annual Leave
- Personal private health care
- Annual bonus scheme
- Life Cover at 8x your salary
- Personal Accident cover – up to 5x your salary
- Flexible benefits to support your wellbeing and lifestyle
- Free parking at all offices, sites, and leisure parks
- Opportunity to volunteer and do unpaid work in the community
We're a purpose-led organisation committed to sustainability, innovation, and delivering long-term value for our customers and communities. As a Senior Regulatory Accountant, you'll play a vital role in ensuring transparency, regulatory compliance, and strategic agility.
