Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Solar Installer to join our renewable energy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing solar photovoltaic systems on various types of buildings, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to sustainable energy solutions while developing technical expertise in the solar industry. The position involves working on-site, often in outdoor environments, and requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Install solar panels and related equipment on rooftops or ground-mounted sites according to project specifications and safety guidelines
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment such as excavators for site preparation and assembly
  • Conduct site assessments and prepare installation areas, including excavation and foundation work where necessary
  • Perform electrical wiring and mechanical assembly of solar systems, ensuring all components are correctly connected and secured
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of installation projects while maintaining high safety standards
  • Conduct system testing post-installation to verify functionality and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the process
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times

Experience

  • Proven experience with electrical installations or mechanical work is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with excavators, welding techniques, hand tools, and power tools is advantageous
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems and electrical principles relevant to solar energy systems is preferred
  • Previous experience in the renewable energy sector or solar installation is beneficial but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift heavy equipment safely
