Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Deputy Manager to play a key role in leading our dedicated team and delivering the highest standards of early years care and education.

The Role

As Deputy Manager, you will:

  • Work alongside the Nursery Manager to ensure the effective daily running of the nursery, with a strong focus on safeguarding, compliance, and quality teaching and learning.
  • Take a room-based leadership role, modelling best practice and supporting a team of early years practitioners.
  • Promote a positive, nurturing, and inclusive environment where every child feels safe, supported, and valued.
  • Lead on planning, observation, and assessment in line with the EYFS 2025 framework, ensuring that each child's learning journey is personalised and engaging.
  • Support the professional development and supervision of staff, promoting a reflective and collaborative team culture.
  • Build strong, professional partnerships with parents and carers, ensuring consistent communication and shared goals for children's development.
  • Assist in monitoring and maintaining compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, and Ofsted regulations.

What We're Looking For

  • Level 3 or above qualification in Early Years Education or Childcare (essential).
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a senior or supervisory early years role.
  • Full Paediatric First Aid certificate
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding procedures, and Ofsted standards.
  • Passionate about delivering high-quality early education and creating a stimulating, inclusive learning environment.
  • Confident in leading a team, managing daily routines, and supporting staff performance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both children and adults.
  • A proactive, flexible, and enthusiastic approach to childcare and teamwork.
